Sports: Papelbon is in pretty good company

Not many pitchers have pitched better than he has this year.
Jonathan Papelbon is just the second pitcher in the last 40 years to allow one run or less in his first 38 innings of one season, according to the Elias Sports Bureau. The other also was a rookie: the Dodgers’ Fernando Valenzuela allowed one run in his first 52 innings of 1981. . . .
If he keeps up this pace, I wouldn't be surprised to see him win Rookie of the Year and the Cy Young award. Only one problem standing in his way, Fransisco Liriano, who is have a fantastic start to his rookie season too.
