Sports: No more Foulking around

The Redsox are now 5-1 with yesterdays win over the Orioles. They Sox are now 2 games ahead of the 2nd place Blue Jays and 3 ahead of the last place Yankees. God it sounds so good to say last place Yankees. I know that won't last long, but I'm going to ride it as long as I can.

Tim Wakefield and Josh Bard worked a lot better in yesterdays game then they did in their first start together. Wake pitched himself out of a few jams and just looked good. The defense made 2 errors but neither hurt the team at all. It is good to get the errors out of the way so they don't happen later.

But what I really want to talk about is Keith Foulke. His line is good, 1 inning pitched with a strike out. But that doesn't tell the whole story. He didn't just look good, he looked like his old dominant self. His velocity is where it was in 2004, 89-90. He had a great change going and couldn't be touched. If he keeps this up, I imagine he will take over the closing job by May 1st. Papelbon didn't look as crisp as he did the other day but still earned the save.

Hopefully Foulke can keep this up and become a dominant closer again. Papelbon belongs in the rotation where he can help the Sox out the most. A rotation of Curt Schilling, Josh Beckett, Matt Clement, Jon Papelbon, and Tim Wakefield could arguably be the best in the league.
